Hi, I’m JD Reisinger

I LOVE Healing, Growth, and Inner-Transformation.

I liken therapy to cooking at times, specifically the quote "Don't trust a skinny chef." It helps to receive EMDR from somebody who has received it themselves. I have engaged in 8 years of my own individual therapy and have received EMDR from multiple therapists. It is a great privilege to offer EMDR to people. I am jam-packed with countless growth journeys that affect how I show up in the office with my clients. Some of those processes being:

4.5 years of inner work with the ManKind Project, where I did a weekend adventure and then biweekly processing groups with other men for the (MKP's) goal of becoming emotional mature, spiritual aware, and deepening engaged in community.

8.5 years of Meditative Practice - I am deeply inspired by Zen training and the benefits to myself and others that can come from practicing presence.  Currently, I attend weekend silent retreats every single month. I have been doing retreats consistently for the last 8 years, which has been deeply impactful on the compassion and care I bring to my professional work.

8.5 years of Martial Arts Practice - Dealing with somebody trying to punch you is one thing, but dealing with multiple people trying to punch you is a whole other ball game. This practice has helped me learn how to be more harmonious. Specifically, it is what motivated me to seek out trainings to become a skilled couples counselor because I quickly realized when I began seeing couples that working with two people is much different than working with just one. Many of the individual therapy techniques fail when two people are in the room, and I have found that effective couples counselors know how to harmonize instead of getting stuck or fixated on just one person.
